At the recent Joint Annual Meeting of the Entomological Societies of Canada and Alberta, Emmanuel Hung (PhD student) and Augustus Negraeff (Undergraduate student), both from the Gries Lab at Simon Fraser University, BC, won the President’s Prize for best oral student presentation in their respective symposia.

  • Emmanuel’s presentation: “Bacterial egg symbiont-derived odors inform stable fly oviposition decisions”
  • Augustus’s presentation: “Trust your gut: Bacteria identified in stable fly feces inform foraging decisions of conspecific flies”
