Entomological Society of Canada Awards & Honours

The society oversees a number of awards for members that make outstanding contributions to Entomology in Canada.  For more information about specific awards, to view previous winners, or to nominate someone for an award, please click the relevant link below.

Award Recipients & Rules

Gold Medal

For entomologists who have made an outstanding contribution to entomology in Canada

C. Gordon Hewitt Award

For to entomologists who have made an outstanding contribution to entomology in Canada within 12 years of their PhD

Norman Criddle Award

For outstanding non-professional entomologists who have made an outstanding contribution to the furtherance of entomology in Canada

Bert and John Carr Award

To support research activities by individuals who study insect faunistics, or the natural history and taxonomy of Canada’s insect fauna

Fellows

Members of the Society who have made a major contribution to the advancement of entomology

Honorary Members

Members of the Society who have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of entomology
