From pests to pollinators and biting flies to butterflies, \u00a0our six-legged neighbours have played an important role in the development of our nation.<\/p>\n<p>It should therefore come as no surprise that <strong>Canada has a growing society of scientists, naturalists and enthusiasts nearly as diverse as the insects to which they are devoted<\/strong>. Here are a few of the things we&rsquo;ve got lined up so far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>articles and updates from the Entomological Society of Canada Board of Directors, as well as from each of Canada&rsquo;s provincial\/regional insect societies<\/li>\n<li>previews of upcoming issues of the Canadian Entomologist and the Canadian Journal of Arthropod Identification<\/li>\n<li>information about annual societal meetings and other entomological events around Canada<\/li>\n<li>stories from the field or lab, profiles of Canadian entomologists\/labs and other personal interest articles<\/li>\n<li>science blogging, highlighting some of the exciting entomological research being done in Canada<\/li>\n<li>photos and profiles of Canadian insects<\/li>\n<li>much, much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, this blog depends on you, the reader\/contributor. Feel free to chime in with your ideas\u00a0 and opinions in the comment sections, or better yet, submit posts of your own. <strong>We want to encourage entomophiles from across the country, professional or amateur, seasoned veteran or newbie student, to submit stories, articles and photos<\/strong> that they&rsquo;d like to show off to the world.<\/p>\n<p>If you&rsquo;re interested in contributing to the ESC Blog, check out how you could <a href=\"http:\/\/escsecblog.com\/become-an-esc-blogger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Become an ESC Blogger<\/a> for tips and guidelines, and feel free to <a href=\"mailto:entsoccanada@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">contact us<\/a> with ideas or questions (we don&rsquo;t bite, sting or secrete anything toxic, honest). Avec des recherches men\u00e9es au sein de chaque Province et Territoire, les entomologistes canadiens ont longtemps donn\u00e9 la priorit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019engagement communautaire, partageant leur savoir et leur passion lors de d\u2019activit\u00e9s de vulgarisation, par la r\u00e9daction d\u2019ouvrages de vulgarisation et par le mentorat d\u2019\u00e9tudiants. Ce n\u2019\u00e9tait qu\u2019une question de temps avant de voir la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019Entomologie du Canada se lancer \u00e0 la conqu\u00eate des r\u00e9seaux sociaux. Et, avec sa pr\u00e9sence sur\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/13552445022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook\u00a0<\/a>et <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/CanEntomologist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter\u00a0<\/a>fermement \u00e9tablie, c\u2019est avec grand plaisir que <strong>nous vous pr\u00e9sentons le Blogue de la SEC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notre but avec le Blogue de la SEC est de proposer une plateforme o\u00f9 les entomologistes et \u00abentomophiles\u00bb pourront partager et discuter de leurs travaux, de leurs histoires et de leurs insectes favoris avec le reste du monde.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Que pourrez-vous trouver sur le Blogue de la SEC\u00a0?
