{"id":3702,"date":"2012-10-19T09:00:37","date_gmt":"2012-10-19T09:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/esc-sec.ca\/wp\/2012\/10\/19\/reminder-get-your-esc-jam-photo-contest-entries-in-now\/"},"modified":"2019-11-14T21:44:41","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T21:44:41","slug":"reminder-get-your-esc-jam-photo-contest-entries-in-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esc-sec.ca\/fr\/2012\/10\/19\/reminder-get-your-esc-jam-photo-contest-entries-in-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Reminder: get your ESC JAM photo contest entries in now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A friendly reminder from\u00a0 Adrian Thysse about the JAM 2012 Photo Competition<\/strong>!<br \/>\n_____________________________<br \/>\nThe deadline for sub<a href=\"http:\/\/escsecblog.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/10\/jam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-626 alignright\" title=\"JAM\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/escsecblog.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/10\/jam.jpg\" height=\"235\" width=\"222\" \/><\/a>mission to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entsocalberta.ca\/JAM2012\/contest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2012 JAM photo competition <\/a>is <strong>October 30!<\/strong> All\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entsocalberta.ca\/JAM2012\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JAM 2012<\/a> participants are\u00a0eligible\u00a0to enter, so why not submit your best shots now?<\/p>\n<p>The theme for the competition will be\u00a0<strong>Canadian Arthropods<\/strong>, and there are four categories:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dead \u2013 pinned or preserved specimens<\/li>\n<li>Alive \u2013 in the natural habitat<\/li>\n<li>Dead or Alive \u2013 predators with prey<\/li>\n<li>Alive with mites \u2013 insect mite\u00a0symbiosis\u00a0(Sponsored by International Journal of Acarology editor, Dave Walter)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>$150 will be awarded to the winner for each category<\/strong> and the \u201cAlive with mites\u201d winner may be offered the opportunity to be a cover illustration for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/toc\/taca20\/current\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Journal of Acarology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So far <strong>the judges include\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Acorn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>J<\/strong>ohn Acorn<\/a>,<\/strong> David Walter and myself, and we are looking forward to a wealth of\u00a0submissions\u00a0from all the many entomologists, amateur or professional, that will be attending JAM 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Go<a href=\"http:\/\/www.entsocalberta.ca\/JAM2012\/contest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> check out the rules<\/a> and submit today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A friendly reminder from\u00a0 Adrian Thysse about the JAM 2012 Photo Competition! _____________________________ The deadline for submission to the 2012 JAM photo competition is October 30!
